Graveside Services at the Odessa Cemetery, northwest of Gotebo, OK on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple, OK. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 8 pm.
Joyce Aileen (Morgan) Harden was born to Reuben Benjamin and Gertrude Violet (Cox) Morgan on March 14, 1929 in the Odessa Community of Kiowa County, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on December 13, 2018 at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Joyce grew up at Odessa and graduated from nearby Lake Valley High School in the late 1940’s. She married Floyd Lavern Harden on July 31, 1957 at the Methodist Church in Butler, OK and to the union a daughter, Vangela Kaye, was born. The family lived at Cloud Chief for a time before moving to Gotebo where she resided until moving to Hobart in 2000 and on to Temple, OK in 2007.
Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Gotebo. She enjoyed crocheting, watching her soaps and game shows, playing games and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vangela Kaye and Tim Bailey of Temple, OK; 3 grandchildren of Temple, Chad Bailey and Sherry, Brian Bailey and Amber Bailey; 2 sisters, Ruby Jean Harley of Twentynine Palms, CA and Jimmie Zoe Frank and husband Ernest of Mountain View, OK; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
