Funeral Services at the Bible Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. John Carlisle officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Burial in the Walters Cemetery with Military Honors.
JW “Wes” Keesee was born to James and Ruby (Oakley) Keesee on June 8, 1943 at Shawnee, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 15, 2018 at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 7 days.
JW grew up at Wanette, OK where he graduated from high school in the early 1960’s. He married Rosemary Elaine (Pirtle) on November 23, 1962 at Elmore City and to the union 3 children were born. The family lived in the Elmore City to Marlow area and everywhere in between while JW worked in the oilfield. He was also preaching as well during this time. They eventually made there way to Walters in 1976 and he went to work for Ray Tilley as a concrete finisher. He was self employed with a partner for a time then hired on with Bruton Construction, retiring after 20 plus years with the company.
JW served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Walters. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, yardwork, collecting coins, bowling, bingo and was active helping his kids with their ag projects while they were in school.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brother, Bruce and Paul; and son-in-law, Tommy Whitehead.
Survivors include 3 children, Jim Keesee and Fonda of Walters, Melissa Whitehead of Temple, Jeff Keesee and Sandra of Elk, WA; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
