Virginia Elizabeth (Watson) McCammon was born to Ephriam Acilee and Mary Etta Frances (Hawkins) Watson on September 16, 1922 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on April 1, 2019 at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 10 days.
Liz grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS. She married Charles Stephen McCammon on June 26, 1942 in Temple, Oklahoma and to the union two children were born, Charles Stephen McCammon, Jr. and Linda Yvone McCammon Turk.
While Charles served his country for 25 years in the Air Force, he and Liz and the kids were stationed in various places around the world. After his service they came back to Walters to make their home, and also enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer around to different places. Liz enjoyed spending time with family, talking to friends and going dancing. She was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Walters and was a longtime member of the Cheerful Workers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on February 21, 1989; a brother, Ward Watson; and two sisters, Mildred Bull and Irene Phillips.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda McCammon of Walters; a daughter, Linda Turk of Walters; 5 grandchildren, Sheri Bitsche and husband Rick of Lawton, Sondra Easley and husband Jason of Choctaw, OK, Paula Turk of Grapevine, TX, Stacy Turk of Ft. Worth, TX, and Robbie Turk; 9 great grandchildren, Skyler, Shaelyn, Jace, Jaryn, Sienna, Tiffany and husband Marcus, Savannah, Noah and Joshua; many other relatives and friends.
