Mickie Joyce Abbe

Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Dr. Jack Jacob officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

Mickie Joyce Abbe was born to William Claud and Essie Marie (Daniel) Zachary on September 22, 1945 in rural Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on April 3, 2022 at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 12 days.

Mickie grew up South of Walters, later moving to the Cookietown area and graduating from Big Pasture High School in 1963. She married Clinton Lee Abbe on March 2, 1963 and to this union 2 sons were born. They made their home at Walters where Mickie spent most of her years as a homemaker but also enjoyed her time working at B&C Grocery, Armstrongs and Lady Bug Flowers and Gifts. She spent many years as a Precinct Official for the County Cotton Election Board.

Mickie was a member of First Baptist Church Walters. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, birdwatching and shopping. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and following them around to their various events. During Christmas, you might find her in the kitchen making candy.

Mickie was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Claude Zachary and Lindel Zachary.

Survivors include her husband, Clint Abbe of the home; her sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Michona Abbe and Stacy and Machelle Abbe all of Walters; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Abbe, Bryce Abbe and Madisyn Abbe; her sisters and brother-in-law, Judy and Wayne Dilbeck and Janet Sue Smith all of Walters; a sister-in-law, Shirley Zachary of Iowa Park, TX; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
