Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Temple, OK, Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with interment in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.
Viewing on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
“Sister” Mildred Lucille (Demerson) Brown was born to Edmond and Mildred (Webb) Demerson on June 8, 1956 in Amarillo, TX and departed this life in Temple, OK on April 16, 2019 at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 8 days.
Mildred grew up in Amarillo, graduating from Palo Duro High School. She met Charles Robert Brown at church and they later married on April 15, 1974 in Amarillo. To the union 4 children were born. They made their home and raised the kids in Borger, TX until moving to Temple, OK in 1993.
Mildred was a spiritual person. She loved butterflies and her favorite color was purple. Her favorite singers were Luther Vandross and Gladys Knight. She served as choir director for several years in Amarillo. She loved cooking for Thanksgiving, singing and cooking pies. She loved to prepare meals and boss Charles while he cooked. She loved spending time with her husband and going out to eat together. They loved to observe people and were partners in crime for 46 years. She and Charles loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved her grandbabies!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Mildred Demerson; her mother-in-law, Lucille Brown; a sister-in-law, Ann Demerson.
Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home; her children and their spouses, Melissa Brown of Pauls Valley, OK, Charles Robert Brown, Jr. and Corinne of Temple, OK, Rubin Lavar Brown and Rebecca of Temple, Ara Lee Brown and Kimberly of Temple, and Alexandria Austin of Lawton; 3 brothers, Elisha Demerson and wife Bobbie, and Elijah Demerson and wife Eartha, and Edmond Demerson of Amarillo; her sister, Mary Ayodele and husband Titus of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren, Nicus, Dymetrius, Mylik, Honey, Cheyanne, Laura, Gabby, Craig, Kallie, Ja’Rianna, Aralee J. II, DeOndra Hood and Dan'te Hood; 2 great grandkids, Marshall and Keenan; her bestfriend, Sandra Smith and her daughter, Melissa Brown; many beloved members of the Brown Family; many-many beloved nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
