Mistie Dawn McDonald

Funeral services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Mary Ellen Colfer officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery.

Mistie Dawn McDonald was born to Dusty Lee and Sherrill Ann (Griggs) McDonald on March 23, 1982 in Oklahoma City, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City on February 12, 2022 at the age of 39 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Mistie grew up at Ada, OK, moving to Winnie, TX at age 15. The family returned to Oklahoma in 2005 after Hurricane Rita, making their home in Lawton before moving to Walters in 2008. She has worked many years as a freelance photographer, doing boudoir pics for military woman, as well as family pics.

Her joys in life where photography, art, music as she played flute and bassoon, cats and spending time with her daughter and nieces. She enjoyed helping others, especially counseling those with Primary Biliary Cholangitis. She also served as an Epic School parental advocate.

Mistie was preceded in death by her mother, Sherrie McDonald; her sister, Crystal Eve Morgan; her paternal grandparents, Billy Lee McDonald and Patricia Juanita (Preston) McDonald; her maternal grandparents, Bobby Gene Griggs and Anna Lea (Hudson) Griggs; and an uncle, Billy Lynch

Survivors include her daughter, Saraphina Annaliese Blood of the home; her father and step-mother, Dusty and Thelma McDonald of Noble; 2 brothers, Shannon Hanks and wife Kim of Walters, Shane Beal and wife Ashlea of Tuttle, OK; 11 nieces and nephews, Bobby Ginnis, Dakota Hanks, Michael Hanks, Tanner Roberson, Breighannon Hanks, Colton Roberson, Trystan Hanks, Delton Morgan, Rylee Beal and Hadley Beal; numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives and a great host of friends.
