Patricia Ann (Henderson) McCurry was born to Verneil Samuel and Marguerite Frances (Whitten) Henderson on January 22, 1938 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Excelsior, MN on October 7, 2019 at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Patricia grew up at Lawton, OK and Artesia, NM, graduating from Artesia High School in 1957. She then attended Cameron College in Lawton before moving to Houston, TX where she lived until returning to Lawton in 1974, building her home east of town. Through the years she worked as a real estate broker through her company Red Barn Realty. She also worked in sales at Midwest Furniture Sales for a number of years. In 1986, she and husband Thomas Forrest McCurry opened a chemical lawn maintenance company called Lawn Doctor. He preceded her in death in 1991 and she continued to operate the business until 2008. She moved to Minnesota in October of 2018 to be near a son.
Pat enjoyed reading romance novels and writing poetry. Her passion was her animals, especially her horses, cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verneil Samuel and Marguerite Henderson; her sister, Margaret Bell Giles; and 2 brothers, Jim Henderson and Sam Henderson, Jr.
Survivors include 2 sons, Randy Dean Roper of Lawton, OK and Thomas Patrick McCurry of Eden Prairie, MN; 1 granddaughter, Delilah McCurry; 2 brothers and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lillian Henderson, John and Genna Henderson all of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 sisters-in-law, Laura Henderson of Tulsa, OK and Shari Henderson of Temple, OK; a brother-in-law, Joe Giles of Temple; many other relatives and friends.
