Robert Earl “Unc.” Hill was born to Robert Hill and Sadie Mae (Knight) Hill on December 1, 1952 in Speed, NC and the Lord called him home on April 26, 2021 in Lawton, OK at the age of 68 years. He was born and raised in North Carolina and moved to Lawton, OK in the 1970’s while stationed in the military at Fort Sill. Upon his discharge in 1985, Robert returned to Carolina only to come back to Oklahoma later that year for work and has made his home here since that time.

Robert was known by many as Unc., Brother, Uncle but the ladies called him Sugar Hill and Brown Eyes. He attended high school in North Carolina where he graduated. He was offered a college scholarship for basketball but he chose a military career which lasted 11 years. He then joined the Laborers Local Union 107 for 25 years and worked all over Oklahoma, Colorado and Arkansas. Putting up windmills and building Bricktown Canal were a few of the things he did on the job. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, playing dominos with his friends, fishing and watching his westerns. He kept it truthful with you no matter what, if you liked it or not.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his only son and daughter-in-law, Demetrius and Kharmela Hill of Tarboro, NC; granddaughters, Demaya Chiara Hill and Darshana Camille Hill of Tarboro, NC; one great granddaughter, Nova Aubrey Farmer of Tarboro, NC; a sister, Mary Roberts of NC; 2 brother, Bernard Hines and Sonya of Lawton, OK and Bobby Ray Hill of Chicago; nieces, Kiera and Kaylea Boyce of Lawton, OK, Te'Shia Johnson of Moore, OK, Demetria Anderson of Lawton, OK, Shareece Anderson of Lawton, OK, B’LaJine Anderson of Lawton, OK and a host of other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Mae Hill; his father, Robert Hill; his sister, Annie Shields; his brother, James T. Knight, his brother Charles Anderson and sister-in-aw DeVora Anderson; and a nephew, Joseph Boyce.
