Ronald Wayne Stafford was born to Rupert Ronald and Thelma Louise (Nally) Stafford on May 2, 1944 in Ava, MO and left this life surrounded by his loving family at home in Geronimo, OK on June 2, 2024 at the age of 80 years and 1 month.
Ron lived with his family at Ava, MO until moving as a young boy to Saint Joseph, MO. He attended Faucett High School, graduating in 1962. On the day after graduation, his first child was born and he went to work for Sutherland Lumber Co. He later managed stores for Sutherlands in Sedalia, MO, Burleson, TX and Lawton, OK. While in Lawton he became District Manager over many stores, ending his career in 2013 after 51 years with the company. After a few months he couldn’t stay away and went back part-time until 2022.
Ron married Ila Mae (Denham) Monson on December 14, 1998 in Lawton, OK, making their home in Geronimo, OK where they attended First Baptist Church. Through the years, Ron enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, mowing and taking care of his trees. He loved spending time with the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Stafford; and a grandson, Joshua Wayne Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Ila Stafford of the home; his brothers, Gary and Donna Stafford, Gene and Dixie Stafford; his sister, Karen and John Willis; 4 children, Paige and Randy Clinton of Saint Joseph, MO, Kris and Tim Peterson of Corning, IA, Travis and Julie Stafford of Osborn, MO, Kristy and James Estes of Walters, OK; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jayse, Rachel, Heather, Lane, Keith, Melissa, Jared, Jarika, Jaycee; several great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
