Sharon Bridgers

Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Temple, OK on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Mark Dodson officiating with burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

 

Sharon Kay (Ivester) Bridgers was born to Bobby Gene and Dena Fay (Brandon) Ivester on December 6, 1952 at Comanche, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on September 28, 2020 at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Sharon grew up in Temple, OK, graduating from THS in 1971. She married Paul Douglas Bridgers on August 27, 1971 in Temple and soon moved on Beaver Creek northeast of Walters. To the union 2 daughters were born. She was employed at Haggar in Temple and then worked at Faulk store for a time, eventually doing housekeeping. She also served as a precinct official for Cotton County Election Board for a number of years.

Sharon was a member of Corum Assembly of God and enjoyed her church activities. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, cooking for Falls Creek and family fish fries. She enjoyed taking bus trips and traveling with her sisters-in-law. She loved spending time with family and attending the grandkids school events and activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dena Fay Ivester; 2 brothers, Lloyd “Butch” Ivester and David “DI” Ivester; a niece, Kathy Ivester; and a sister-in-law, Marie Neely.

Survivors include her husband Paul of the home; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Paula and Brian Lokey of Comanche, Lisa and Chad Mullens of Temple; her brother and sister-in-law, Skin and Betty Jane Collins of Broadus, MT; several other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gail Ivester of Ashland, MT, Sue and Gerald Hayes, June Hedges, and Charles Bridgers all of Walters; 5 grandchildren, Dakota and Julee Lokey of Duncan, Harleigh Pendley and Trent Curts of Cyril, Rabeka and Tyler Maddox of Duncan, Kade Pendley of Cyril, and Landon Mullens of Temple; 5 great grandchildren, Rose, Faith, Cameron, Raylin, Nevaeh and baby Jolene on the way; many nieces, nephews and friends.
