Funeral Service at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Stephen Ray “Steve” McKinney was born to William Ray “Buddy” and Connie Louise (Petty) McKinney on February 24, 1952 at the Walters Hospital and departed this life in Lawton, OK on September 30, 2018 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 6 days.

Steve grew up at Walters until the family moved to Bakersfield, CA, in 1967. They returned to Walters in 1978 and Steve went to work at Goodwill Industries in Lawton where he was employed for 40 years. He has lived in a group home with Quality Enterprise in Lawton since 1988.

Steve was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Walters. He enjoyed doing latch hook yarn projects and loved family get togethers. He especially enjoyed his 2 trips to Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his father, William McKinney; his step-father, Alfred Booher; and his mother, Connie Booher.

Steve is survived by his sister, Sharon Boren and husband Dwain of Broken Arrow, OK; his brother, Alan McKinney and wife Elaine of Burkburnett, TX; 2 nieces, 5 nephews, 3 great nieces, 15 great nephews; many cousins and friends.
