Virgil Lee Fielding was born to William Earl and Lennie Ellen (Cagle) Fielding on September 30, 1941 in Chattanooga, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on March 25, 2019 at that age of 77 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Virgil grew up at Walters, OK. He married Jo Ann Lambert on June 12, 1959 and to the union 3 children were born. He worked various jobs including welding, but was eventually certified in water and waste water treatment. He was one of the first 2 people in the state to receive an A-certification for water treatment. He worked for the cities beginning in 1978 at Temple, then New Castle, Blanchard and Waurika doing water treatment until this past year.
Virgil married Sonya Jane (Logan) Gunn on April 14, 1995 but the couple had been together since 1975, adding her 2 girls to the family and then had a boy of their own for a total of 6 kids. He enjoyed working, fishing and also running jug-lines at Waurika Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Fielding; his son, Ricky Lee Fielding; 2 brothers, Earl Gene Fielding and Frank Fielding; and 4 sisters, Stella Mae Blalock, Edna Janell Fielding, Jewell Bell Stapp and Rosemary Davis.
Virgil is survived by 2 sons, Jimmy Lee Fielding and wife Babbs of Temple and Kenneth Earl Fielding of Blanchard, OK; 3 daughters, Donna Joann Alvarado and husband Oscar of Duncan, OK, Tracy Gunn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Lisa Chitwood of Blanchard, OK; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Fielding of Wichita Falls, TX; a sister, Pearl Phelps of Hastings, OK; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren with one more on the way; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
