Wilma Leona (Jones) Gilliam was born to Rhew J. and Florence Leona (Lee) Jones on April 8, 1946 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on September 14, 2021 at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 6 days.

Wilma grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1964. She moved to Dallas, TX, working for State Farm but soon returned to Walters. She married James Warren “Jimmy” Gilliam in 1965 at Walters and to the union 2 children, Rodney and Stacy, were born. She was employed as a pharmacy tech for many years at Petty Drug and later at Dishman’s Pharmacy in Lawton.

Wilma was a member of First Baptist Church in Walters. She enjoyed camping, especially at Lake Texoma. She also enjoyed trips to Branson, watching the Gaither’s. She loved Christmas and decorating for it and other seasons. She was giving and loved doing things for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rhew J. and Florence Jones; infant twin sisters, Lana and Jana Jones; and a grandson, Landry Aaron Patman.  

Survivors include 2 children, Rodney Gilliam and Brandi of Duncan, OK, Stacie Dodd and Dan of Walters; her brother, Clyde Jones and Sue of Kingston, OK; 4 grandchildren, Luke Patman and Brittany of Waco, TX, Caleb Patman of Walters, Logan Dodd of Clinton, OK and Kirsten Scott of Lawton; 2 great grandchildren, Bristyl Patman and Maylee Pichardo; a nephew, Jones Jones and Christin of Texoma, and kids, Mariah, Kylee and Rhew J.; a niece, Carrie Lee Bitros and John of Sadler, TX and kids, Clara and Nora Bell; 2 aunts, Peggy Lee of Walters, and Peggy Fletcher and Richard of Wichita Falls, TX; a lifelong friend, Betty Butler of Walters; many cousins and a host of friends.
