Delbert Russell "Russ" Stehle

Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., Dr. Jack Jacob officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m.

Delbert Russell “Russ” Stehle, Jr. was born to Delbert Russell and Judith Ann (Conly) Stehle on January 7, 1961 in Neubruecke, West Germany and departed this life in Chickasha, OK on May 5, 2023 at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 28 days.

Russ grew up in North Dallas. He joined the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably for 22 years, plus 6 in the National Guard. He did basic training at Fort Sill and then on to Hawaii and Germany. He married Robin Lynn Collier on August 1, 2000 in Dallas, TX before heading off to Fort Hood and then Austin doing border commission work. Duncanville, TX was the next stop, pulling security at DFW with the National Guard, then served 6 months at Fort Hood. In 2004 he headed to Afghanistan for 18 months. 

Russ returned home from Afghanistan and began serving in the Guard. They made a move from Duncanville to Walters, OK in 2010 and he soon retired from Fort Sill. He then went to work at Walmart in Lawton, having previously worked at Walmart in Cedar Hill, TX. He finished his career at NOV in Burkburnett for 2 years. 

Russ attended First Baptist Church in Walters. He enjoyed fishing, working outside, building things, stock-car races and rodeos. He loved to cook both inside and outside on the grill. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-daughter, Ashley Berrier. 

Survivors include his wife, Robin, Of the home; his daughter, Payton Stehle of the home; 3 grandchildren, Tifani, Gracie and Audrey Berrier; his nephews, Laine and Noah Collier; other relatives and friends.
